December 21st
It's been an interesting week. :) I'm finally finally getting over my cold so I haven't been as out of it lately and that has definitely been a blessing. :) It's been a week full of miracles!!! We went on exchanges this past week which was probably the most crazy insane and fun thing ever. Our schedule was so jam packed. o_0 Sister Kelley and Sister Hanson joined me here in Fond Du Lac for the day and we saw so many people. It was awesome. It was definitely a blessing to go on exchanges one last time with Sister Kelley before she heads home! She has been my STL almost my entire mission, and was the first one I went on exchanges with. I love her to death, and I'm going to miss her so much. She is such an amazing example to me. :) We've been recently trying to get everything sorted out for Lori's baptism this week! :D She's getting baptized Saturday. She is so amazing, even though she got shots in her back this past week that make doing everything extremely painful, she came to church so that she can be more prepared for her baptism. :) She just has so much faith. I'll have to share more of her story in my next email..with some pics from the baptism! :) We're praying super hard that everything will work out. the crazy thing is that the Elders also have a baptism going on Saturday, so we have to co plan with them and yep. it's been interesting. :) But we're so super excited. We had the amazing opportunity to be invited over to a members home this past week for her Christmas party. She invited a bunch of her non member friends, and a lot of them had a ton of questions for us. :) Every person we were able to talk to accepted a card with a link to the A Savior is Born video on it, (and our phone numbers as well) so that was definitely a blessing/miracle. Ah we're so super excited for Christmas! Our day is pretty booked out..we're going to Catholic mass in the morning with a member so that should be a party xD haha and we have so many members that want us over. I'm so blessed to be serving in this area with these amazing people. Even though it's hard to be away from you guys at this time, it makes it a little easier to be able to be with people I know actually genuinely care. :) The verse I wanted to share this week is John 3:5. God gave us the ultimate and the greatest gift of all; His son. If you haven't yet, I would encourage you to go on christmas.mormon.org and watch the new video they put out, "A Savior is Born." It is powerful, and beautiful. :) Have a very Merry Christmas!! I love you!! :)

Fond du Lac

December 7

Hello Family,
This week has been probably one of the longest weeks of my life. Saying goodbye to the people in Manitowoc was rough. It was so hard, because every time I would drive away from someone's house after saying goodbye, I couldn't help but cry because it hurt me so deeply. But, I know that transfers happen for a reason, and that the Lord has a plan for me and my mission. :) One huge miracle this week is that..Xavier committed to a baptism date!! :D :D :D We never really got the chance to extend a date to him while I was serving in Manitowoc, because he almost dropped us like 4 times..but the sisters set a date with him finally! Hopefully President Cutler will let me go back for the baptism. :) Fingers crossed. :)  I met my new comp, Sister Jenson on Tuesday. :) she's super nice. She's been out for three months, and she's from Idaho! funny how all of my companions so far have been from Idaho. The ward here in Fond Du Lac is super nice. The people are sooo missionary minded. We had about 5 different families ask if we could come over and watch the devotional with them last night :) I love you guys. I'm so grateful to be serving out here in Wisconsin. :) Have a great week!

Family!!! :)
This week was pretty crazy busy. We've had back to back appointments basically all week. On top of it all, I've picked up a pretty nasty cold so that's not super fun. The hardest thing this week has been to pull myself out of bed and work hard even though my body is being dumb and sick but it's been worth it. :) The transition here has been a little…strange, there's a lot to get used to, but it's been awesome. First thing last Monday, we went to a German Christmas..thing...I'm not sure what it's technically called, but it was basically just a bunch of vendors who had their stuff set up inside of a heated tent. :) It was awesome. We handed out a bunch of cards, and a book of mormon!! People were so open to talking with us. It was super cool. my favorite part of it was this German vendor who was selling his carvings. They were sooooo gorgeous. He hand carved all of it! I wish I could have taken a picture to send of all of it. I couldn't even believe it. We're super blessed to work really closely with the Elders here in Fond Du Lac, and earlier this week I was kind of just struggling and needed some guidance as to what the Lord's will is for me here. So I asked if they could give me a blessing, and Elder Godfrey gave it for me. He told me that as long as I work hard, and do my best, the Lord will take care of the rest. It was super duper cool. Another cool thing happened this week! So we were tracting, and I felt really strongly impressed to knock on this one door. We tried knocking and they weren't home. So we kept walking to the next house, and I noticed this letter that was stamped and addressed on the ground! I picked it up to check the address, and that little bit of time it took for me to bend down, pick it up, and look at it set just the right timing for us to be there when the lady who wasn't home..drove up! So we asked her if she knew where the house was that was on the letter, and we talked with her for a little bit. She was super open and receptive and everything, and we were able to give her a card with a link to the new Christmas video on it. :) It was awesome. Then we had our ward's Christmas party this past week, and it went super well. A lot of our investigators came, and they even served funeral potatoes! So that's always a plus. :) It's been a pretty good week this week. I'm extremely blessed to be serving here in Fond Du Lac. :)

Leaving Manitowoc

A new area

November 30th

Hello all,
Soooo..this week has been..interesting. I'm being transferred! We got a transfer text Wednesday with a list of all the missionaries who were leaving the zone..and my name was on it. That was kind of a shock! We just found out today where I'm going..Fond Du Lac! Wherever the heck that is :) My comp Hermana Cazares is training here in Manitowoc. I know she'll be a great trainer. :) It was one of the hardest things I've ever experienced going over to the Estradas and telling them I'm being transferred. All of the kids started bawling. Isabel held on to me and kept saying, "Don't leave me"  ah It was so hard. Then Jenni started crying and I lost it. It feels almost like I'm leaving my family again. I'm going to miss them so much. I'm very grateful that I can leave them with a missionary I trust though. Bishop made me say the closing prayer for the last hour of church and of course I bawled like a baby. I'm going to miss these people so much. When thinking about transfers and what scripture I could share, I was thinking about the story in the Book of Mormon about when King Lamoni's father is taught the gospel.. He asks about Ammon, and why he didn't come with the missionaries to teach him. Aaron says in Alma 21:4, "Behold, the Spirit of the Lord has called him another way; he has gone to the land of Ishmael, to teach the people of Lamoni." That's kinda my perspective on transfers. The Spirit of the Lord calls you another way. You know? It's really hard to leave, but I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do. One of my good friends this past week in an email said in regards to fulfilling the Lord's will,"When he says "jump" ask "how high?" on the way up." I love it. Other than transfers this past week we had Thanksgiving over at the Estradas. She fed us so. Much. Food. She made cranberry salsa for heaven's sakes. So good. We've been talking with one our neighbors lately, and her name is Tracy. Her son plays basketball for UW Manitowoc, and she introduced us to him. He's 6'6". Holy Moses. She's the sweetest human being though. She had us over for pizza yesterday, and we had about an hour long discussion about life and the role that God plays in it. It was pretty dang cool. She kind of clears up all of the rumors about us that circulate around the apartment complex  so that's pretty nice. She's got our back so she defended our name :)  Anyway. Thank you so much for your prayers and your support. I don't think I'd be able to do this without you guys. I love you!! :) Have a great week!

November letters from Hannah

November 2, 2015

Hey Family,
Sooooo this week has been pretty great. :) We started off the week celebrating Giovanni's birthday with the Estrada family! It was so cute because they were having a special family dinner for him, and we were the only people they invited to have dinner with them on his birthday. :) Of course we got him birthday presents! I got him a Donatello teenage mutant ninja turtle pack thing and he opened it up right away.  Our ward had a Halloween Trunk or Treat Party this week, and it was such an awesome opportunity to invite investigators and less actives. :) Two of our investigators, and a less active member came and it was so fun. :) As missionaries, we're not allowed to wear special costumes or really dress up for Halloween, so Hermana Cazares and I decided to use what we had clothes wise, and we just went as MIB..Missionaries in Black. Yeah we're dorky I know
but here's a picture with us and Xavier and one of the kids in our ward who was dressed as an ATM.  It was a pretty awesome experience. :) Other than that, it's been a good week. :) We were finally able to teach one of our investigators the Restoration, and it went super well!! She loved everything we taught her, and she said that in the future, if she receives her answer from God, that she'll want to be baptized. :) So that was pretty dang awesome. :) We went out and contacted a ton of the referrals that we've received, and it's been such a blessing to see so many people accepting the gospel in their lives. We had to teach Gospel Principles last minute on Sunday, and it was hard to throw the lesson together, but in the end I was really grateful we were able to teach it. The lesson we taught was about the roles and responsibilities each member of a family has. Of course I got emotional, cause it's super hard to be away from my own family. One of the recent converts in our ward, Ruby, after I expressed how hard it was to be away from my family, reminded me that even though I'm away from my eternal family, that I still have a ward family here in Manitowoc. That was an amazing reminder. I love this area, and I especially love these people. I'm so blessed to be serving here. A scripture that I wanted to share this week is Alma 26:27-28. Even though I don't have such an enormous burden as Ammon to go and preach the gospel to the mortal enemies of my people, it's not super easy being a missionary sometimes, and in fact it's very easy to get discouraged. But I like that it says that they have to rely on the mercies of God. Somedays, I get down on my knees and just pray to God that he can get me through the day, and I know he does, because there is no possible way that I could ever do this without his strength. I'm so grateful to my God for allowing me to be here in Manitowoc at this time, teaching these people with Hermana Cazares. :) We're a little worried about Isabel and Yuliana's baptism, because we're not ultimately sure if it will end up happening this week or next because of some scheduling issues, but fingers crossed it'll be this week. We're praying very hard for it to be a success. :) But I'll of course keep you all updated on how that goes. I love you! I hope you have a great week. :) Thank you so much for your prayers and for your emails and letters. They are definite strengths. :)

November 9, 2015

Hey Mom!! :D
It was a good week this week. We had to push Yuliana and Isabel's baptism back a week because of some scheduling conflicts, but it's all set to happen this Saturday. For sure. Hopefully. Fingers crossed! :D I'm so excited for them. We set a goal to make daily contact with them before the baptism, because Satan always works his hardest on people right before and after their baptisms. So we're trying to help them out as much as we can. :) We've been super blessed to see a lot of the ward members have a desire to be active participants in missionary work this week. Sheng, a girl in this ward who just submitted her papers, has been making a concentrated effort to come with us to a lot of our lessons, and that has been a definite blessing cause her testimony is so strong. The Walker family asked if they could have the Estradas and us over the day before the baptism for dinner and their final lesson so that was awesome. :) And another sister, Sister Ramos, asked a couple of times if she could come to lessons with us. :) This ward is so incredible. They are always so willing to help us out, and they are so accepting of the people we are working hard to bring into the ward. :) We were able to help someone move this week, and that was pretty fun. Doing service as sisters is always awesome cause it's the one opportunity we have to wear pants during the week so that was awesome. We heard about the whole media frenzy surrounding the new section in the church handbook. I think it's interesting that people are so quick to point the blame at church leadership. This is not simply a church directed by the whims and desires of men. This is the Lord's true church on the Earth. We are privileged to have prophets and apostles on the Earth today who can direct the church according to the Lord's will. I know that this new revelation we've received in this new section of the handbook comes because it is the Lord's will. The people here haven't been affected by it too much, because we're in the middle of hick town and not very many people have cell phones or even know what a mormon is except those guys in a white shirt and black pants who come and knock on their doors every so often. So, it hasn't been much of a problem for us. Thanfully. I am so grateful to be serving these people here in Wisconsin. I know this church is true. I'm so grateful for it. I hope you have a great week! I love you all!! :)

November 16, 2015

Hi Family :)
Thank you so much for your email this week. I definitely needed it. Like. More than you know. Jenni reminds me every time we go to her house that I need to send you more pictures. :) it's pretty funny.  Speaking of the Estradas..Isabel and Yuliana got baptized and confirmed this past week!! :D :D :D It was probably just the best thing to ever happen. Hermana Cazares and I got to speak at the baptism, and I was asked to speak about baptism. Of course I was an emotional wreck and probably unintelligible the entire time, but I was so grateful they asked me to speak. :) Of course Jenni brought enough food to feed a small army J It was great.  She's always feeding us. We pass around the meal calendar every Sunday, and this past Sunday as we were passing it around there were some open spots for the coming weeks, and she filled basically all of them up with their name. She's the best human being. The baptisms and confirmations were the highlight of the week hands down, but other than that..it's been a pretty good week. :) We made some time to tract yesterday..which may or may not have been the best idea considering that we went right after the Packers lost to the Lions so people weren't necessarily the happiest..but still we were able to have some good conversations with people. :) A member of the ward here, Sheng just barely submitted her papers and got her temple recommend for her endowments!!  We're so excited for her. It kinda made me think back to when I was going through that same process of submitting my papers. It's a scary time. I had no idea what to expect. No idea what I was kind of getting myself into, but now that I've had these experiences, and taught these people, I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be serving. I've been sharing this scripture a lot lately, but it sums up how I feel serving as a missionary. Alma 29:1-2 :) I hope you all have a great week :) love you!!

November 23, 2015

Holy Moses. This week was crazy. But super awesome. :) We FINALLY taught Xavier the Law of Chastity and the Word of Wisdom!! :D :D We were a bit afraid to teach it to him, because he struggles a lot with drinking tea, and we weren't sure if his faith was quite strong enough for him to hear about that yet. But. We told him, and when we did,.he looked like he was going to pass out. He was pretty shocked. But. He committed to stop drinking it! Cold turkey. :) He said it's worth it. That was probably one of the coolest things I've experienced on the mission thus far. Just because it was definitely a make it or break it lesson, and he exceeded our expectations. I'm so impressed with the progress that he's made. The day after we had that lesson was kinda lame.cause I got really sick.  Hermana Cazares wasn't feeling too well either, so we had to cancel most of our appointments for the day. We did venture out of the apartment once to help a less active lady who just barely got home after being in a rehab center for her hip, and Hermana Cazares almost passed out so that wasn't too good. We're feeling a lot better now thank goodness. Then we had the amazing opportunity to go to mission tour! The Appleton, Green Bay (our zone), and Wausau Zones came together to go through a bunch of trainings from President and Sister Cutler and the assistants, and Elder Schwitzer of the quorum of the seventy and his wife. :) Hermana Cazares and I were pretty lucky because before the meeting, Elder Schwitzer had a little bit of time to do some interviews with a few companionships and we both had the opportunity to be interviewed by him! He gave us both a lot of inspired insight that's definitely helped us know how to better help the people in our area. I was so blessed, because before I went to the meeting, I had a few questions that I wanted answers to, and I prayed to receive those answers, and Sister Cutler answered almost every single question I had in the training that she gave. I know that our leaders here are truly inspired, because everything that was said at mission tour was exactly what I needed to hear. :) So yep mission tour was awesome. Other than that, we cleaned a hoarders house, and we saw the Estradas almost every day this week..but that's nothing new ;) I love them. They came to church this past Sunday, and when we talked about temples in Gospel Principles, Jenni said some pretty powerful things about how she wants to be sealed in the temple someday to her family, and yeah it made me tear up a little bit. I will admit. I know I know I'm a cry baby. Then in Relief Society we were talking about being good examples for others, and she commented about how she is thankful to have us over at her house often, because are good examples for her children. I am just. I'm so grateful for the Estradas and for the love that they express for us and for the church. Anyway. :) I'm so excited for Thanksgiving this week. The holidays are just the best. It's pretty hard..I will admit..to be away from you guys because I can't really imagine the holidays being good without ya. But. There is so much to be thankful for. We've been sharing Alma 26:36-37 with people this week in preparation for the holiday, and we've been asking them what they're thankful for. It's interesting to hear people's different responses, everyone is grateful for different things. A couple of things I found myself sharing this week that I'm thankful for were for 1. My Heavenly Father and my Savior and for everything they have done for me, and for everything they have given me 2. My family. Definitely my family. 3. The church and the opportunity I have to serve a mission and to be able to try my best to help these people  4. My missionary companions who have helped me through some pretty rough stuff 5. The mountains. I'm grateful for the mountains out in good ol' Utah. I miss them so much. I'll never take them for granted again.
Soooo....I'm a missionary and I like to commit people to doing stuff right? Well..I'd like to ask you all to find at least 5 things that you're grateful for. Every day. Not just on Thanksgiving. Write them down at the end of the day. And I can promise you that as you do that, it'll make the hard days good, and the good days better. :) Because at the end of the day, you're looking for the positive. :) I love you all. I'm so grateful for you. :) Thank you so much for your prayers and your love. :) have a great week. :)

October letters

October 12
Hey mommy!! :) Sooo..que pasa? Just kidding I really still don't know Spanish :( But, I told Hermana Cazares that my main goal is to be able to have a full conversation with her mom in Spanish when we both get home..so that's the goal..agh... but I'm super excited. It's been a better week. We had zone training this past Tuesday up in Green Bay! So that was awesome!! :) It was Hermana Cazares' first time up in Green Bay so that was fun. Green Bay is really cool. And really, really big. The training was amazing. Both the Sister Training Leaders, and the Zone Leaders gave some awesome instruction that has helped us a lot in our area. We've felt really stuck lately with a lot of the people we've been working with, so we always love it when people can offer some good counsel. :) We got to go to a baptism this past Saturday for a lady named Ruby! She had both Hermana Cazares and I speak at her baptism. I was asked to speak about the Holy Ghost, and it was really cool to be able to bear simple testimony to Ruby about how much that gift I've been given has blessed my life, and how much I know it will bless her life. :) It's been a pretty good week. Next week should be crazy :)  Thank you so much for your prayers and your love. Sometimes I feel like that's all that really drags me through the day. One thing that I've learned is that I've just gotta give my day to God, and everything will work out the way it's supposed to. The scripture I chose to ponderize this week is Mosiah 29:12 :) I figured I'd share it. I hope ya'll have taken up the challenge to ponderize a scripture each week! I don't really like the word so much, but the principle of the thing is what matters! :)  I love you guys! Hermana Cazares sends her love as well ;) haha Have a good week! Hurrah for Israel!

October 19

Ugh seriously I hate emailing, I just always have so much to say but it's hard to condense it all. Tell Luke happy late birthday for me!! I am sending something in he mail for him so tell him to keep watch. I was thinking about getting a green bay lanyard for Joshua..cause his 49ers lost to them the other day..I figured I'd rub it in ;) I didn't though. and don't worry mom, the only reason why I know that is because everyone gives us sports updates whether we like it or not.  This week has been pretty awesome. We were able to drive to Oshkosh for Hermana Cazares' new missionary meeting! It was so good to hear from President and Sister Cutler, and from the Assistants. They gave us a lot of needed guidance for our area. I think it kind of helped us get more excited for the work we're able to do here in this area. What got us even more excited was when the ward missionaries were finally able to come to correlation this Sunday! Hermana Cazares and I have been really down lately about the way our investigators have been progressing, and it was just a definite strength for us to be able to have that support from the ward kind of..vocalized. :) It's been such a miracle, so many people have been signing up to feed us lately! Usually only two or three families sign up on the monthly meal calendar, and it was quite the change this Sunday when we realized we have dinner appointments for almost the next two weeks straight! We've been given soooo much food. I told Jenni the other day that I was going to try to start trying to eat more healthy foods, and she just laughed at me and handed me a piece of cake. I guess that's how it goes. In other news..we had a bit of a scare earlier this past week, because Xavier almost kind of half way..dropped us. We were pretty devastated.  BUT last P day we just decided to go get ice cream at Cedar Crest, and he happened to be working there that day, and we were able to talk to him a bit. We set another appointment with him, and we committed him to coming to church! And he did!! He came!! :D We think that he's just.. really close to actually committing to the church and he's scared to make the decision. We're so excited for him though, and we hope that he'll keep pursuing this. We met with him on Saturday, and he shared a chapter of scripture that really stuck out to him. 2 Nephi 20. One of the Isaiah chapters. Usually people get really stuck there or just skip those chapters cause they're hard to understand sometimes, but he really likes em, and it was an answer to his prayer! So that was a definite miracle. :) Wow anyway, I'm sorry this email is really long. I just. I love you guys. I hope you know that I'm prayin for ya and that I think about you all the time. My scripture I'm ponderizing this week is 2 Nephi 4:28 :) I picked it because of the recent discouragment Hermana Cazares and I have been feeling recently. When you are discouraged, it allows room for the enemy of your soul to crowd into your heart and take control. What we really should be doing is rejoicing! The gospel is good, and it's true. :) I love you all, have a great week :)

Hurrah for Israel!

October 26
I cant believe that October is almost over.  Time is flying by. Hermana Cazares and I are super excited for Wednesday, because our ward is having a Trunk or Treat/Chili Cookoff thing, and a tonnnnn of our investigators, and a bunch of less actives promised they'd come. :) This past week was so incredible. Hermana Cazares was finally able to teach Manuel (Jenni's fiancee) the Restoration in Spanish, and he loved it! He told us that he felt like God was in the room with us while she was talking. :) I obviously didn't understand most of what they were saying, so I just nodded my head and smiled. :) He committed to progressing towards baptism with Jenni! :D :D We were driving to another appointment, and Hermana Cazares recapped everything that happened, and I had to pull over I was crying so much. I love that family, I'm so excited for them. :) We gave them a church tour so Manuel could see the building, and feel more comfortable with coming to church, and we showed him a picture of the Provo Temple, and he said he really wants to be able to go there someday with his family :') Aghhh :) Also..another miracle with the Estradas..Isabel and Yuliana are getting baptized November 7th! :D maybe I should have mentioned that first. Huh. ;) We're so excited. :) And they're excited too. They've already invited twenty bajillion of their friends to come. :)  I love them so much. So yeah it's been a really good week. :) I've probably bawled like a bajillion times. In a good way :) I had to give a talk this past sunday in church, and I was asked to center my thoughts around "Choose to Believe" by L Whitney Clayton. I was pretty terrified and very grateful that I didn't pass out, but in my preparation for giving this talk, I found this quote from a talk given by Elder Jeffrey R Holland. He said, "If I may be so bold this morning, may I suggest “direction for deliverance”? In words of one syllable, we need to turn to God. We need to reaffirm our faith, and we need to reassert our hope. Where necessary we need to repent, and certainly we need to pray." How true that is!! God is always waiting for us to turn to Him. He is our literal Father in Heaven, and he loves us with an infinite and a perfect love. I know that he does. Because I've felt it. Especially as I've had the opportunity to serve and to teach his beloved children here in Wisconsin. :) It's been an amazing week. We're so blessed. I'm praying for you! I love you! :)

More from Manitowoc

Sister Peterson with her zone leaders

Sister Peterson and Sister Cazares

September 14
Soooo this week has been crazy!! Not even going to lie! :)  I got my new trainee on Wednesday! Her name is Hermana Cazares :) She is assigned Spanish speaking! So it's different. :) When we meet with our new Spanish investigators, I just kinda sit in the corner and pretend like I understand what they're talking about. My mission president just let me know today that he wants us to do an extra hour of comp study to study language in the mornings so that she can teach me Spanish o_0 terrifying. She is literally one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She's a convert to the church! It's been such a blessing to have her as my companion. :) She is definitely an answered prayer. :) So crazy thing. Don't freak out too much alright mom? We were pulling out of Kwik Trip, and this dumb child of God turned right down the road, but was going way too fast and almost rammed into the car, so Sister Cazeras yelled that we needed to get out of the way, and I flipped the wheel and we went over the curb and hit a pole. I didn't know what to do, so I backed the car up and drove down the road and pulled over as soon as I could so we could take a look at the car and figure out what to do. We got out of the car, and went to the front to check it out.and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. There's a little scratch at the front, but other than that there was nothing. We hit that pole pretty dang hard. We were thinking there must have been some internal damage, so we called Jenni (who used to be a mechanic) and asked her to look at it for us. She checked it out, and said the car was perfectly fine. Ah it was pretty embarrassing when she said that cause I just started bawling. That was such a miracle. If Sister Cazares hadn't said anything, and if I hadn't pulled out of the way of that car, it would have hit my side of the car and I could have been pretty seriously hurt. That guy was going way too fast. Then the pole didn't even cause any damage! God is truly mindful of us! We were so protected that day. It was such a miracle. Jenni was pretty mad when we told her about that guy pulling out though. She's so protective of us. She calls us her adopted teenage daughters :) I'm so grateful to be so close with that family. They are the best. :) I keep holding out hope that once I bring you guys out here to visit them, that you and Jenni will become super good friends, and then you can convince her to move out west ;) I'm so grateful for this gospel. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be teaching all of these people. I just love them all so much. I hope that one day they can all experience that same joy that I have come to experience because I have been baptized into the true church of Jesus Christ. :) Alma 26:30-31 pretty much sums up how I feel about the opportunity I have to teach these people. :) I hope you have a great week! I'm praying for you :)

..Hurrah for Israel!

September 21st
This week was.pretty long We got a lot done though! At the beginning of the week we invited our investigator Sandy to baptism. ..She said no. We asked her to set her own date to progress towards. She still said no, but that she wants to keep meeting with us until she's ready, so that's good. We've tried to place more of a focus lately on talking with everyone we meet? This week we went tracting and we were going down the street, and this guy was backing out of his driveway with the window down. So naturally, we walked up to him and offered him a card. We started talking to him. Then he let us know that he is a preacher. He started going off on a rant about how me and Sister Cazares have been deceived and that we haven't been saved, and that we should just "take our Mormon bible and toss it." he basically tried to start a Bible bash with someone who's only read over the Bible once or twice. That was probably what made it pretty easy for me to not try to prove him wrong with scripture, but to tell him what I've come to know. He seemed to get a little frustrated, cause he couldn't really argue with what we told him about what we know about the church.because it's something we've felt. :) It was pretty hard to exercise self control and keep our cool when he began to talk trash on the church and Joseph Smith, but it was definitely a tender mercy of the Lord that we were able to calmly explain our beliefs to him. He actually invited us to come back again sometime in the future to continue discussing our beliefs! So that's pretty cool. It was just. An interesting experience to have. Just simply bearing testimony of what we believe. :) The ward had a fundraiser for the refugees in Syria this past Saturday, and it was a huge success. They were able to raise a lot of money, which was a definite miracle. :) We got to help wash cars so that was pretty awesome. It's always nice to have the excuse to wear pants. Sister Cazares and I have been able to talk with a lot of people this week, and that has definitely been another tender mercy we've seen. Sister Cazares is probably just one of the best people I know. She's been through so much, and she's such a strong person because of what she's gone through. :) I miss you guys!  Have an amazing week. :) Mosiah 24:14 :)

This week has definitely been a week full of miracles. We've been super busy. I remembered earlier this week that we haven't really gone tracting in a long time, and I wondered why. So I looked through my planner at the past couple of weeks and realized that we really haven't had the time! So that's definitely been a blessing. Especially because it's Packer season now and it's not very fun tracting during a game. Mom seriously they're obsessed. I know people joked about it before but seriously. It's scary how obsessed these people are with the Packers haha I love it though so it's okay. We had interviews with President Cutler this past week during district meeting. It was such an amazing blessing to be able to talk to President about my questions and concerns, because he was able to offer such an awesome insight! He offered a lot of encouragement and words of advice which were very desperately needed. It was kind of weird/awesome because he talked about stuff that I was concerned about and struggling with that I didn't even mention. The Spirit is pretty darn cool. :) At the end of the interview, he gave me a very powerful blessing. It was just. Ah awesome! I love this gospel! It's so cool. :) The spirit was so strong. That district meeting was pretty powerful too, because the discussion centered entirely around Joseph Smith and the Restoration. We had a testimony meeting and shared our testimonies of Joseph Smith. I'm so grateful for him and for the sacrifices he made in his life so that we could have the restored gospel. The Women's session was so amazing! Ah I loved it so much. I kept thinking about you mom, and it made me cry a bit cause I couldn't watch it with you. But I knew you were watching it too so that made me feel a little bit better. :) One of the things that President Uchtdorf said really stuck out to me. "Forever is composed of nows" he said. That is so true. We need to be living each moment..in the moment. :) That's one thing I've discovered as a missionary. The most effective teaching happens when you are present with people. This week I've really been thinking about what I would be missing out on if I hadn't gone on my mission. I've been able to meet and teach all of these incredible people, because of my mission. We were sitting with the Estradas this week, and I just teared up a little bit cause I'm just so grateful for them. The Spirit in their home is incredible, and Jenni is basically my substitute mom while I'm across the country far away from my real mommy. I’m so excited for General conference! We're watching it with the Estradas..and Xavier..at the Estrada's house on Saturday :) Should be awesome. I love you mommy! I hope you guys have had an awesome week! If you have time this week, read Alma 26. :) We taught about missionary work in Gospel Principles this past week, and it's just an incredible chapter about missionary work and the blessings that come from it. :)

We had the awesome opportunity to go on exchanges earlier this week with our Sister Training Leaders! I went up to Green Bay with Sister Kelley for a day, while Hermana Cazares stayed here in Manitowoc with Sister Payne. It was kind of hard to leave my trainee! She's pretty cool, so it was just. yeah it was weird. Sister Kelley is really cool though. She's definitely a consecrated missionary, that's for sure. :) I got to see Lambeau Field! ..for a quick second as we drove by. I tried to take a picture, but I ended up mostly just getting Sister Kelley's nose. It's a pretty funny picture, I'll have to send it. But it was still cool! Those STL's live a pretty hardcore missionary life. It was cool to experience it though. :) It was really cool this week to have lessons that revolved around prophets in preparation for General Conference. It was definitely an awesome reminder of how blessed we are to have prophets on the Earth today. :) Conference answered a lot of the questions that I have, and gave us needed insight for how best to help the people in this area. It was inexpressibly hard to see President Monson struggling towards the end of his talk, to see him using every ounce of strength he could to finish delivering the powerful message that he had prepared for us. One thing he said that really hit me was, "As we make Christ the center of our lives, our fears will be replaced by the courage of our convictions." How true that is! Serving a mission is scary! Telling people about the gospel and truth that you know, and then witnessing them reject it at a hand is one of the most terrible things I've ever had to go through. But I know this gospel is true. I know that my Savior redeems, and loves, and that same love extends to every single person that I will ever come into contact with. The pain we have to go through as missionaries when we face those rejections is so worth it when at least one door opens. When at least one person is willing to listen to the message that we share. I know this gospel is true. I'm so grateful for it, and I'm so grateful for all of these people that I have the opportunity to work with. I love being a missionary :) Hurrah for Israel!
